Add a realistic touch to your English model horse bridles with Rio Rondo's scale-model English Bit shanks. Bits are sold by the set or pair, and will add the perfect touch to any miniature bridle.
The bits we offer are actually shanks or rings (no mouthpieces). Use Tacky Wax wax to keep the bit shanks in place temporarily... there's no need to saw the mouth open on a perfectly good model!
Classic English Bits (1:11 - 1:12 scale)
Bijoux (1:18 scale) and Stablemate (1:29-32 scale) English bits.
Cast bits are made from pewter feature fine detail and dimensional relief. Check out our Finishing Brochure-BR2 for detailed information on easily polishing and finishing castings.
English Pewter bits are more dimensional and rounded than Etched Metal bits, and do require some finishing. Some people prefer them because the metal is softer and somewhat less prone to accidentally scratching a model. They can also be reshaped and refined to suit.

Etched bits are Nickel Plated or Gold Plated brass, and are flat with no decoration. These inexpensive bits are well-suited for working tack items.
