Notes from the Artist:
While I was busy painting away on the Artisans' Hall run, others were having a marvelous time experimenting with new mask designs and other techniques and I couldn't stand it any more. I'd promised my daughter I'd paint her a colorful horse, and I also wanted to play with the blue metallic scheme again. So I decided to take a short break and try for the blue again.
I was a little more successful in getting some tinting to not fade out with this copy, and used an alternate overo pattern and a blaze-faced mask. The entire model was underpainted with pearlescent white first (resulting in pearlized white markings). This piece was given to my daughter for her birthday.
